I have heard this as is true in many ways. I have heard of people getting real help from these things where western medicine has failed them.
You are more likely to find this in a private office or group rather than in a hospital. There are often associations that can make recommendations to you about finding people who practice this in your area.

You may also enjoy Tai Chi which is a slow meditative exercises.. I don't think it is haram at all as long as you don't get to the buddhist stuff. The exercises them self are useful for anyone. I knew an old woman do this every morning outside with the sunrise and she was so peaceful woman.
