jiu jutsu. it is by far one of the most physically demanding martial arts as well as one of the most fun. it will improve your flexibility as it improves your muscular build. the early belts progress quicker than the later belts so you feel good about it until you fall in love with it. also, it is the most … street relevant i guess the term is. if you were to get into an altercation on the street the limited rules of jiu jutsu will make you more prepare you more for a street fight than the other martial arts that have many rules.

If you set yourself up for making a goal of getting just belts in a certain time you missing the point. It isn’t about belts.Hell if you just want belts go to ATA taekwondo they will feed you a belt every few months as long as you have the cash to cough up.That said MA is a lifelong journey so you can always mix and match as you progress.Sayoc Kali, escrima ,Arnis(all arguably the same thing)Teach alot of weapons fighting, knives, sticks ect.If you wanna learn alot about weapons and some empty hand stuff to go along with it this is a good choice.
I personally would stay away from stuff like kung fu,tai chi, shaolin way,win chun, stuff like that for self defense, not that they don’t have some effective stuff but it isn’t really a reality based system.BJJ is by far the most fun and in my opinion most effective 1v1 against a larger stronger oppenent.Krav Maga is good for self defense, and multiple attackers, though your prob gonna get stomped no matter what you know if more than 2 people jump you that know what they are doin.In the end i would go with whatever catches your heart no matter what somebody tells ya.You have quite a plethera of dojo’s to try out,so try them all till you find one that you fit into.

Finding a good instructor to study under is more important than finding any particular style to learn. Just do some research on the schools in ur area, their instructors, and their lineages. Then decide for urself which is right for u. Good luck
