martial arts, but in real life which one would dominate:Hun gar kung fu, Northern shoalin, bagua,or tai chi and don’t give me an answer saying it would rely on the instructor oh yeah or the southern praying mantis style
If you don’t believe me here’s a video of avatar study closely
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9G–7jaKa2g
and pay attention to the martial arts styles from 25 seconds and on……….. Avatar is nothing like gay naruto unlike naurato avatar has a real time martial artist shifu kuzu come in and show the people that animate the show how to animate the styles the show is so great that they’re making a live action movie out of it
sorry it’s shifu kisu http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UZ4NIJrzfds
Bruce lee said that no one martial art had all the answers. He said this in his book THe Tao of Jeet Kune Do. I would take his advice which was to learn and adapt as many different styles as you can so that you can flow into different styles as the fight dictates.

I’m assuming you mean Koshijutsu. Koshijutsu isn’t a martial art, it’s a name for certain techniques that attack the muscles and nerves. If you mean a more specific ryu of Koshijutsu like Gyokko Ryu Koshijutsu, which is one of the nine ryuha of the Bujinkan sometimes called Gyokko Ryu Ninpo from the Ninjutsu techniques it used to contain, then it’s a very effective martial art. Gyokko Ryu is a very old martial art that was often used by the Ninja and the Samurai. It is part of the foundation of Togakure Ryu Ninpo Taijutsu. I personally would choose Gyokko Ryu Koshijutsu over Aikido since Gyokko Ryu is a combat martial art that is meant for hurting your opponent. Aikido is a great martial art which can be very effective, but it tries not to hurt the opponent.
I’ve never seen Avatar, but very rarely are martial arts on television anything like real life. Cartoons like Avatar, Naruto, etc. are very inaccurate when it comes to martial arts. Naruto just infuriates me with its inaccuracy towards Ninjutsu.
If you’d watch the last video link you posted, then it would tell you that it’s based off of the movements of Tai Chi, Hung Gar (Tiger-Crane Style), Northern Shaolin Kung Fu, and Ba Gua Kung Fu.

if you study with an instructor who doesn’t know what he is doing then how can you learn anything. he could know every style in the book, but what good would that do.
learning from some one who has no knowledge or skill regardless of the style will teach you nothing.
learning from someone who is very knowledgeable and skillful, who knows how to teach, and can show you how to turn a disadvantage into an advantage, can mean all the difference in a real life situation.
you need to be more open minded when it comes to training other wise you will not learn as much

Hi there
No styles dominate regardless of what you may read on here or anywhere else for that matter. Its a bit like saying which suit looks better on a man. The answer is its the man that makes the suit look good!
Bujinkanninja is quite correct in that its koshi jutsu and its based around the techniques of Gyokko ryu which is a samurai / ninpo ryu ha school of jujutsu.
Aikido is also similar to Gyokko ryu in that the techniques are similar but the movement is different. Again its not a problem it just depends how you apply it!
I very much doubt that the show avatar has anything accurate in it. Its just a cartoon.
All arts are fit for purpose. You use a hammer to nail and a saw to cut. There both tools that you use in different situations! If you have both in your tool bag then your are more equipped!
Best wishes
