Which martial art is proven to be more effective on the streets: karate, shaolin kung fu or Neijia arts?

Neijia is the 3 internal arts tai chi chuan, baguazhang and xingyiquan.

  2. All martial arts are effective. You pick the style that better fit your abilities. Moreover, no matter how effective a style is, if you are not training well and perfecting your techniques, the art becomes useless.

You must find a teacher who has a deep understanding of the mechanics of his art.

The art is not for you but you are for the art. In other words, don’t do an art because of your abilities. This idea shows lack of knowledge of the arts.

You train in the art and you and the art become one. You will be able to fulfill all the skills required of the art with proper instruction and diligence on your part.

What good is a person who has studied his art 30 years and does not know how to apply its movements? He is a master of the movement of the art – not the practical application of his art.

Len – with all due respect, your art is the tool you use to make YOU effective. Your art is already effective. When you adhere to its rules and laws, it will make you what it is.

    “fa” means manual.

It tells you what bolts to turn to correct it, or take it apart – like a car’s manual.

  5. In theory, all will be useful on the street. They’re called martial arts because they are intended to be used for combat. That said, I assume your question is in regards to the training aspect. Karate or kung fu would give your body the physical training it needs to deal with certain situations.
I would categorize the neijia arts as more of a refinement to physical skills you already possess, even though any previous fighting skills are not mandatory. Their emphasis is on the mental aspects of the martial arts which can then be applied as needed.

  6. There is no proof that any one art is more effective than another art. It is not the art itself that is effective, it is the artist. Anyone can learn martial arts. It is another thing to have the ability to apply what you have been taught. Some people are better at applying the techniques than others. Therefore that individual is more effective. You can go to any school. Some schools have better instructors. Those are the best schools to attend. But even in those school you have some student that are better than other students. They can have the sane rank, but clearly one student skill set is far superior than the other. They get the same training so why is there a difference? It could be their time in this martial art. It could be the time that they spend away from the dojo practicing. Most likely it will be because that person is better at applying what they have been taught and or the time the practice what they have been taught.

  7. i practice internal arts (nejia) and have learned that xing yi quan was designed for the battle field and is taught with tai chi and ba gua. so for fast results in defense on the streets, axing yi is a good bet but any of them can be as good as any other depending on the students and the teacher.
