Focus on your breaths – in, out, in, out, etc. Expel as much of the air in your lungs as possible. Keep your body fit and stretch for flexibility/relaxation.

1. Find a quiet spot.
2. sit in a comfortable position.
3. close your eyes and relax your mind from any tensions or apprehensions.
4. try and focus on an imaginary object with your eyes closed. Like a rose, or idol of a god or goddess, or whatever u like. Even a beach may do!
5. Slowly, make your mind forget everything by focussing only on this object.
6. Now try to analyse and see the various details of this object. try and look at every minute detail.
7. Continue for 10 to 15 minutes and return to focussing the object as a whole.

If you’re just starting to use meditation, then here are the basics;
Make yourself comfortable in everything. Your clothing, your position (seated or lying down), the quantity of light, the sounds you hear. Many people prefer to dim lights and play soft music to mute any external noises.
Close your eyes and start breathing. Yes, breathing. Pay attention to breathing in through your nose, and out through your mouth. Keep your breathing gentle. Follow the flow of air all the way down into your lungs, then back out. The idea here is to focus and cleanse, not hyperventilate.
Doing this exercise brings your attention inside your body, not your mind. When your body is comfortable and relaxed, then you can move your attention back into your head. Concentrate on only one item. If you have a problem you need help resolving, concentrate on being open to receiving an answer. If you just need some restful time in your head, then make a scene where you are quiet and safe, and allow yourself to be there.
When you are ready to end your meditation, move your focus back to your body and repeat the breathing exercise. Then slowly open your eyes.
Welcome back.

Honestly the best way to meditate is…(1)close your self in a room and make sure you cant be disturbed.(2) If you like, put on some meditating soft music that will will relax your mind or the best way is put on some worship music.(3) Tell JESUS everything you want and how you feel and talk to him like you talking to an earthly friend. I promise you that you will feel better than ever!!!!

I read this in a meditation book a few years ago: “Meditating for 5 minutes a day is better than reading a thousand books.” Books are great but I’ve found meditation, as suggested by the quote, to be a great supplement. The 5 minutes part is what I like- that’s doable for me.
Here’s how I do it: I sit up straight and breathe in and out throught my nose (my mouth is closed the entire time) for 5 minutes while listening only to my breathing. It works.

The whole aim of meditation is,
1. to calm your mind, and
2. to focus the mind on one thing.
If you sit down and close your eyes you will notice that your mind is jumping from one thought to another. Even though you want to concentrate on your breath you will find other thoughts also coming in between.
In learning to meditate you must first learn to calm your mind. You do this by following every thought that comes into you mind. You must be like a Manager of a Hotel who stands at the entrance and observes the customers coming in. Without getting attached to the thoughts try to observe them. You will find that a thought comes in and that it goes nowhere and another thought follows it – try following that too – with same results. This way you will find that your thoughts gradually subside.
Of course do not expect results in one or two days. Practise it for at least 40 minutes every day for at least 2 months you find that you have ‘killed’ your train of thoughts. I have practised for 1 1/2 years but still vagrant thoughts come in. The whole idea is to silence the mind.
Thereafter start concentrating on your breath. Notice the breath coming in and going out. You should not concentrate only on the tip of your nose. Notice the breath coming in and thereafter your lungs getting filled and then gradually exhaling the breath.
You should be able to get some guidance from the following sites,
