Both have pros and cons. Depends…on you really. Also, depends on the expertise of the instructor, whether they be in the flesh or on a dvd. Many people find classes more motivating and if your form is wrong, generally speaking, most instructors will pick this up and help you to do it correctly. Also, some people love having other people around them, in a group environment. If equipment is needed (like a reformer, ball, mat etc) it would be made available for the participants. That said, there is costs involved with classes whereas a dvd is a one-off expense, so therefore much more cost-effective. If you dont like having to leave the house, dealing with traffic (using petrol or public transport costs), then the home dvd would be a better option. There are many, many great pilates dvds out there. Its totally up to you…best of luck whatever you decide to do.
Either one works if you are willing to work at it.
Neither one works if you don’t work at it!
