To be safe, I wouldn’t study under one person who claim to teach more than one styles.

I use to train under instructor who run a MMA gym. He is very good in jiu jitsu but he teach only Muay Thai and have other instructor who teach just jiu jitsu.

Now I’m at two different gyms. One of the gym is a MMA gym. That gym have 5 instructors, they all cross teaching and train under eachother. However two is head instructor, one for Muay Thai and other one for grappling.

  4. YES!!! I strongly Believe in MMA philosophy, get as much as you can from this person you are studying under, but be willing to shop around… each teacher looks at life/world/sprituality/defense in his or her own way. As a result, his or her teachings will be glued to his or her inner beliefs, just get as much as you can from him until your life circumstance direct you to go somewhere else.

  7. It is ok, It would be better if you added Muay Thai to it. The mix will be effective, and deadly.

is only as effective as how you apply each style when in a combative situation during the adrenaline rush. I personally don’t see the need for the TKD unless you compete. I think Muy Thai and BJJ are the best combo for MMA…but your mix should also be pretty effective…grappling and striking
