I do makiwara training all the time now. I started doing it and have hardened my fist way up and can strike hard surface allot harder without hurting myself. Whenever I first started I saw the results which come from the changing of skin and hardening later on. Now whenever I do it nothing really changes. My skin still looks the same but I don”t know if when I do the training if it’s still working. I do it with wood wrapped with newspaper and I started doing it with hitting my carpet. But the striking point start to hurt from impact and my fingers etc. but I see no change in the skin. I know that my forearm strength is way up though. I do a chi meditation that helps before, during and after. Like tai chi, meditation. It actually help allot. It is a major pain blocking technique and it actually causes you to hit allot harder.
