Please provide your side of the argument with back up versus one statement opinions, thank you! I’m really curious as to how a tai chi user could defeat a boxer in combat.

For example, Randy Couture of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, and Bernard Hopkins, the hall of fame pro boxer. Not only are these guys competitive at 40 years old, they are/were the cream of the crop. Both have, and still could destroy athletes in their 20′s. I am quite sure that there are more examples in “regular” sports, but I don’t watch them. This type of thing was almost unheard of years ago,was it not? How do you think this is possible?Do some people “give up” after a certain age because society says that they are “too old”,or something? Is it,sports medicine?Pilates? What? Some even say you get stronger after 30!
Please give more examples in other sports, if you know of any. I just get tired of hearing from some people in the 25-35 crowd say,”I’m getting to old to do this or that”(physical things).Ridiculous!Strong old guys, feel free to chime in.

could a tai chi master beat a pro boxer in the ring?
I am 5’9″ male with a heavy build (broad and thick). April 2006 I was 180lb with some chub and a little bit of muscle mass. I have been working mostly cardio (30min – 1h bike/tred/oliptical/running/ect 3-5 times a week) and some resistence training (Minimal weight several reps and set). I also do Tai Chi 2 times a week, Bodukon (the combination of yoga, martial arts and meditation into one work out routine) and 50 push ups almost every night. I also swim now and then, play sport with friends, and play with my very energetic boxer everyday. This along with proper diet (though I admit that i go a little bit over board at time (the no rules burger at Outback is very tempting every once in a blue moon)) should have put me into better shape i would thing.
My problem is: After the first month i began seeing deeper and darker stretch marks going up my stomach, my stomach has only gotten large, and I seem to have less stamina.
Anyone know what is going on with my body?
more info:
As I stated my eating habits aren’t great but are much better than a year ago and I am definately more active than ever. Should i be seeing some positive results after all this time?
A little more info:
My plan was once I lost some of the chub to start working with more weights and building some more muscle mass. But without seeing any results after a year I am not sure what to do
