Whatever happened to all the good karate movies? In the 80′s and before that we had some kick ass ones. From Bruce Lee to “Barry Gordy’s Last Dragon” which is my favorite of all time.
I wish we had a new kind of karate movie (and i dont mean the Matrix).

Lee had repeatedly humiliated Norris during a mock sparring session in the hotel hallway at the Long Beach International Karate Championships. Norris had offended Lee when he publicly claimed to be a better fighter than Lee. When word got back to Lee, he called Norris and openly challenged him, threatening to drive to his school to fight (Norris was teaching his black belt class at that time). According to eye witnesses, Lee made Norris hold the phone receiver up and shout in front of his black belts, “Bruce Lee is a better fighter than me!” Later, Norris wrote an Apologetic Letter to Lee; the original is currently in the care of Lee’s student, Dan Inosanto.

I loved him and wanted to be his girlfriend.I learned karate because of him. thanks bruce.
My friend is making a movie that will parody martial arts movies, and he has asked me to write the title song. Within the song, I’m supposed to reference famous titles and actors. However, I’m pretty clueless when it comes to this genre — all I know for certain is that the movie will poke fun at “The Karate Kid”, “Kill Bill”, and the work of Bruce Lee. I would really appreciate some suggestions that I could use as a starting point for my research. Thanks a lot!

THIS ONE IS Martial art = ( Lee’s first introduction to martial arts was through his father, Lee Hoi Cheun. He learned the fundamentals of Wu style Tai Chi Chuan from his father. His sifu is Wing Chun master Yip Man,
Lee trained in Wing Chun Gung Fu from age 13–18 under Hong Kong
Bruce was also trained in Western boxing and won the 1958 Boxing Championship match against 3-time champion Gary Elms by knockout in the 3rd round. Before arriving to the finals against Elms, Lee had knocked out 3 straight boxers in the first round.
In addition, Bruce learned western fencing techniques from his brother Peter Lee, who was a champion fencer at the time

( He trained from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., including stomach, flexibility, and running, and from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. he would weight train and cycle. A typical exercise for Lee would be to run a distance of two to six miles in 15 to 45 minutes, in which he would vary speed in 3–5 minute intervals. Lee would ride the equivalent of 10 miles in 45 minutes on a stationary bike.
Lee would sometimes exercise with the jump rope and put in 800 jumps after cycling. Lee would also do exercises to toughen the skin on his fists, including thrusting his hands into buckets of harsh rocks and gravel. He would do over 500 repetitions of this on a given day.
According to Linda Lee, soon after he moved to the United States, Lee started to take nutrition seriously and developed an interest in health
foods, high-protein drinks and vitamin and mineral supplements.)
