How to start a Buddhist / Zen lifestyle?

I want to become a Buddhist. I am most interested in the Tibetan and Zen types of Buddhism. I have several questions…

1. How do I become a Buddhist?
2. What should I eat in my diet?
3. Do I have to give up all material possessions or do I just not let them own me?
4. Should I practice meditation, Tai-chi, yoga?
5. Any other suggestions?
I’m 13 and my family is all Catholic, so I really would like to hear this from a real Buddhist, and I still practice Catholism because Buddhism is not a religion but a way of life. Now I would not like to recieve comments saying “Read the bible.”

Should I leave my husband for my ex-boyfriend? I have a van to live in and can stay with my ex-boyfriend?

My last boyfriend from eight years ago has invited me to go on a business trip. He started sending me champagne and roses. Red ones, which I love. My husband is a boring workaholic who limps around on a broken ankle and is obsessed with yoga and Buddhism. I want to focus on painting and karate and my boyfriend told me I could keep my waitress job and live in his house if I wanted to. He got divorced and got a good lawyer and managed to keep most of his money. He has no kids. The problem is I have a son. We have tried marriage counselling. I have my own money from a trust fund. I would really like to keep my job and live in a nice house. He would be good for my son. I want to put him into private school and my husband disagrees. I am willing to share custody with AK and not ask for alimony, just child support. I want to leave him a note before I go this weekend. I have been packing up my painting supplies and designer clothes. My parents do not want me to move back in.

taoism and meditation?

In the Chuang Tzu (or Zhuangzi) and the Taoteching, meditation isn’t really mentioned anywhere. These two books just sort of tell you the truth about life and everything and I guess that they are so apparent and so direct, that you do sort of “lose the self.” Really, it seems to me that meditation isn’t really necessary for anything at all in Taoism. But, in Zen, a school of Buddhism influenced by these Taoists, they meditate all the time, using zazen, to sort of experience the truths about Buddhism, which are strikingly similar to the truths in Taoism. So, is meditation necessary in Taoism? Did I miss something about meditation or yoga or zazen or tai chi or whatever in the Chuang Tzu and the Taoteching? And really, how important is meditation and how useful is it really?
Also, which way should I go down – Zen or Taoism?

On the subject of Buddhism…..?

Can anyone tell me what that is? How to find out more about the meditation, and it’s past like where to look besides the internet like a book ? How to be into buddhism as a form of religion? Answers on this issue please?
