can you please tell me the basic differences (besides lineage) in the forms of tai chi? esp between yang/chen?

they are all slow right? Is one less comprehensive than the other or is it simply a lineage thing? thank you!

Best style of tai chi for young woman?

I’m looking for a style of tai chi to study and practice. I have stress problems and anger problems( i have had counseling and they told me tai chi would be good for me). I’m terribly clumsy but i have lots of patience. I dont want to do anything involving weapons, i dont trust my self(again im clumsy). My balance is the worst, i cant even wear heels. I’m starting a magazine and I have lots of stressful things going on now(setting up my future) and i need a way to relax and calm myself, not to mention my anger. And I would like to be able to protect myself. I have heard the 5 major styles are Chen, Yang, Wu, Wu(Hao), and Sun.
Please help me, sorry for the long explination XD
I would greatly appreciate any help

p.s- i dont want to go aroung kicking “butt”, actually i would like to be a bit more calm and not let my anger take control

CHEN VILLAGE Trailer. Empty MInd Films

Our upcoming new release in July is CHEN VILLAGE, a story that revolves around life in Chen Village, China and Chen Family Tai Chi. There are 3000 residents in Chen Village (Chenjiagou) and 2500 practice Tai Chi Chuan on a daily basis. Almost ninety percent of the residents bear the Chen surname. In this feature length film we explore the growing number of Tai Chi Chuan followers from abroad that descend upon the village and how the Chen style and the generations of the Chen family have survived China’s turbulent history to make Chen style popular all over the world. A fact mainly attributed to 19th generation grand master Chen Xiaowang. It is a fascinating look into rural village life and Chen Village’s claim to fame as the birthplace of Tai Chi Chuan.

Be sure to do Part I the warm up exercises before starting. Full program available at www.DrPaulLam.com. During the International Congress for Complementary Medicine Research 2008 in Sydney, Dr Paul Lam took all delegates for a brief Tai Chi exercise. Professor Felix Wong requested instructions of this exercise be sent to all delegates. Here it is. This is a step-by-step instructional DVD of the Tai Chi exercise. It is part of the Tai Chi @ Work program designed to manage stress for people at work. It can be practiced almost anywhere within a short period of time. Part 1 is the warm up exercises, Part 2 is the 3 Tai Chi movements and cool down exercises that one can practice for five minutes while sitting or standing. Regular practice will help apply tai chi principles to manage stress and turn it into a source of strength. For an instructional DVD of the full program please visit www.DrPaulLam.com
