Taekwondo, Cigarettes and the Human Weapon: Why?

I was really excited to see the Human Weapon guys finally doing a show on taekwondo, but I was completely disgusted when the one Master had Jason and Bill hold unlit cigarettes in their mouths so he could demonstrate his control by kicking them out of their mouths. Why didn’t he just use straws? Why cigarettes? And (presuming that both hosts are non-smokers) why did they actually agree to put those in their mouths? I’ve always associated TKD and virtually all martial arts with good health and fitness, so I was really disappointed that Master Yang would choose to make any kind of use of cigarettes as part of his demo routine. Just curious as to whether or not anyone else feels the same way?

Natural ways to increase progesterone in the female body?

For the last 5 months I have been getting my period every 40 to 50 days versus my usual 28 to 32 days. My gyno says I am not producing enough Progesterone and should perhaps take a pill called “Provera” to help with this and to regulate my period again. Honestly I am hoping that it goes back to the way it use to be without having to take any pills. I did not have a good experience with birth control so I am very hesitant in taking any hormones. I would rather do something natural. Perhaps a slight change in diet, more exercise, Yoga, aromatherapy..things of this nature which I hear can help. I suffer from IBS and GERD so I am almost certain that the change in diet and lifestyle I have had to make over the last year or so have contributed to these irregular periods. I was fairly sick over the last year as I tried to get control of my IBS and GERD, which have both improved greatly in the last year. My period seems to be the problem now, which in turn is making my GERD and IBS act up.

Does portion control really help you lose weight?

I’m not over weight, I’m 19, 5’5 and weigh 130 if you want to know. I just want to eat a little healthier because I want to get back into a toned shape like I used to be when I did pilates. Can anybody help me…..

Calories! The Ultimate Question.?

I have decided to take my weight under control and try to fix my eating habits and work out on a regular basis.
Now the big question. Is it good enough to just count calories and exercise? I have a max amount of calories that I eat each day (recomended 1600) and I have been keeping track of that along with both going to the gym and doing pilates at home. But is that enough. All the information that I have looked at suggests that I need to watch the fat content also. I am in need of information and personal opinions.
