Not only tom cruise but other great actors that havent won an oscar despite their great film performances yet actors like jaime foxx who has made movies like stealth and miami vice and charlize theron who made aeon flux after her oscar win and the above mentioned actor who was in along came polly (now that was an oscar performance)i mean cmon these people have made horrible movies yet they win cause they get good roles, theyre kinda like one movie oscar wonders though i guess. its kinda like dan marino and charles barkley who were great players but never got the big prize. but overall my ? i guess is winning an oscar really mean your a great actor or does it just mean you were a great actor but only in that movie? noticable exceptions repeat winners:tom hanks, who was in bosom buddies and hilary swank who starred in the next karate kid
