What martial art suits me?

(guy) I’m really flexible and I have good balance. I don’t play sports, except for volleyball. I play chess (I have to make a strategy for everything). I’m kind of lanky also. I prefer a martial arts that focuses on discipline and peace. Also, I’d try to either get my opponent off balance or weaken them first, rather than going for the kill.

To me, my top martial arts that suit me are Tai Chi, Kung Fu, Aikido, or Hapkido. What do you think?

What is the right age to start Kung-Fu training?

I’m 17, and I’m very interested in taking up a martial arts discipline such as Kung-Fu, but I worry that I’m too old to start, considering I probably won’t be able to do it until I’m 18 and have my own money to spend on it… I was just wondering if it is as easy to find classes for adults as it is for children? Sorry if this is a dumb question, but thanks for your help…

Kitty discipline question….I have a 1 year old kitty who is in heat…?

She has the run of the house usually. I just started doing Pilates which requires alot of floor movement with various straps and balls. While I’m doing it, she will not leave me the f** alone. I know she wants to play. Is it wrong to lock her in the laundry room (litterbox is there) for 45 minutes while I exercise? I just feel bad becuz I’ve never done that before and to do it while she is in heat seems mean…
To everyone who said get kitty spayed—DUH. My vet (who I adore) told me it’s better to wait until she is a year or so old, partly because she was abused as a kitten and I rescued her and he thought she should have plenty of time to adapt and to grow. She never goes outside–doesn’t even try. Spaying is in her near future. Thx for the friendly advice re: free places. I can afford to do it. But more thx for the reminder that it’s time.

As for “Sandwich”–your response was completely uncalled for. I never said it was a discipline problem. I put her in there so I can exercise and I don’t have to keep shooing her away. Save your hostility for someone else, kiddo.

How can I improve my personal discipline regarding my personal yoga practice?

I’m trying to run 3 miles per day six days per week. I also would like to incorporate my yoga practice some how, but there’s not enough hours in the day…

Help!! Which one should I practice, ITF or WTF Taekwondo?

Currently I am a blue stripe belt and will be taking a test for the red belt in the World Taekwondo Federation (WTF). I’ve practiced WTF TKD for quite a long time and I’m comfortable with the instructor and his teachings. But after I went to an ITF class near my house, I am very interested with it. I know that WTF is more sport oriented and ITF is martial arts oriented, and my purpose studying martial arts is to be able to defend myself, for health, and also for mental training (more confidence, not being a coward, discipline, respect, etc.). Actually i prefer to study ITF because it is tilted for self defense and also the philosophies and disciplines is better (in my opinion) than WTF.
I am not allowed to practice both styles, so now i am confused which to choose, continue WTF or start again in ITF. Personally i like ITF better but then i need to start from scratch if i choose ITF. Please, give me suggestions and also clear reason why i should do it.
