Consequences for my 11 Yr old daughter’s Angry Outburst!?

Yesterday in the car, both my kids were in the backseat. My 11 yr old daughter was irritated by the fact that her little brother (age 8) was waving his hand in front of her face. He didn’t even touch her. The next thing I know, she had karate chopped him right in the neck (adam’s apple area).

Now I was very upset (yes I yelled! I know I shouldn’t have) and didn’t know what to do. I moved my son up front and made sure he was ok. But with her?

Immediately, I put her on the rest of this week and up until next Friday restriction from playing with friends/phone. TV fine, cause if she didn’t have that it would be worse on me. But no friends. THAT she values.

Additional things: to write complete sentences on the following: —20 ways I can manage my bx when responding to my little brother’s bx.–10 ways I can show love to my brother-10 healthy ways I can respond to my anger/frustrations.

What else can I do? What works for you? HELP!!! not an isolated incident!

Weight loss plan. Will it work?

I’m not huge (as in, no protruding stomach and large man boobs), but I am overweight. However, I do want to improve my health a bit and I think with the weight loss plan I’ve come up with might do the trick. I think 15-20 pounds will put me at perfect. Not to mention the fact that I think it will improve my overall health. So here it goes:

Monday – Sunday (minus me being at work on Saturday and Sunday, so I’ll probably increase the number of times I exercise those days, and stay with the same diet).

Morning: Either a bowl of Cheerios and a fruit of some sort, a yogurt, or a bowl of oatmeal. Whichever I’m in the mood for I suppose. Then work out for the 15-25 minutes of free time I have before I have to leave for work. Not sure as to what to do for a 15-25 minute workout, perhaps a quick stretch and a little Tai Chi?

Afternoon (during work): Tomato (perhaps a little turkey?) on toasted whole wheat bread. No condiment, because I don’t really like condiments. Perhaps for a snack about an hour or so after lunch, maybe just a tomato, since I absolutely love tomatoes. I don’t really have much time to do much at work, but if I can pull off another 25 minute deal, maybe the same routine as the morning will work?

Evening: Never had a problem eating relatively healthy dinners. Usually it’s some type of meat with veggies (fish included), or some spaghetti. My appetite isn’t huge. It’s the company lunches and skipping of the breakfast (and of course, my lack of exercise) that I blame for the weight gain. At any rate, after dinner, 1 hour (or 2 if it’s swimming, because I love swimming) of either swimming / walking / or martial art.

If I’m in the mood for a snack at night, maybe a yogurt. Not only is it healthy, but it helps the hell out of my heartburn. Any insight on this plan would be greatly appreciated. Let me know! :)

Is Cabin Fever one of the worst horror films of the past five year?

The part where that little runt screams ‘pancakes’ takes the cake for being outright stupid and illogical. And whats with the karate moves?? In fact, the whole movie makes no sense whatsoever but Eli Roth seems to thinks every scene and line is a masterpeice. What does everyone else think?

Do you realize that Taekwondo is one of the most popular martial sport in Malaysia?

Its also a fact that Malaysia is the FIRST country that General Choi taught outside Korea, which makes Malaysia the ‘home’ for Taekwondo outside Korea.

Malaysians are quite fortunate to have great masters of this art and sport as there are many well known teachers who are direct students of General Choi, founding Father of Taekwondo.
Gindy, you’re right, Karate is too… and we are fortunate enough to have great masters from authentic lineages.
MLP, Taekwondo became a lousy art because of lousy kids who abuse the art and have lacked in discipline.

Check this guy out… He utilizes each and every techniques correctly and have efficiently used it in K1 competitions.

Lousy art or lousy guess?
Bronzedgal, throughout my 17 years of experience so far… most TKD-ists are more prone to joint pain and injuries due to their snapping movements (almost similar to Karatedoka). This becomes worse if instructors are not able to supervise carefully correct body mechanics and structure of techniques applied.
BTW, MLP… I’m not talking about which art is ‘best’ or ‘worse’… its a matter of choice, just like religion. I bet you’ve realized this by now…

I’ve studied different arts throughout my life and there are no ‘prefect’ styles that I’ve found. Its about efficiency and application of techniques which makes them effective, not mere ‘names’… like religion too…

Do you really think that you’ll make others realize the truth with your approach of criticisms?

Asian guys have it the worst?

Honestly, I know people have heard this before, but I do believe that being an Asian guy in America really blows sometimes. When was the last time you ever saw an Asian guy on TV or in a movie that wasn’t a kung-fu master or a total nerd? When have Asian men ever been portrayed as anything other than sexless, ugly, weak nerds or ugly, sexless, karate masters? I feel like there are very few women and gay men that find Asian men attractive in any way…other than the fact that many Asian guys make good money. I feel like a lot of Asian guys have low self-esteem when it comes to dating…they just assume no people find them attractive and nobody wants to get to know them. They could be smart, sweet, devoted, loyal, and successful, but many do not see themselves as attractive. I feel like no one does. It sucks for Asian guys in the US bc they are always being compared to White guys physically…does anything else matter to people when it comes to attraction? Are Asian guys rejects?
