Kung Pow – Enter The Fist (The Chosen Edition)

Kung Pow – Enter The Fist (The Chosen Edition)

Writer/director Steve Oedekerk (The Nutty Professor and Ace Ventura 2: When Nature Calls) creates an off-the-wall comedy and a new martial arts genre that substantially alters dubbed action footage from a 1970′s martial arts picture with a brand new twist in the story line and altered dialogue. The story follows The Chosen One (Oedekerk) as he seeks to avenge the death of his parents at the hands of the evil and seemingly indestructible kung fu legend, Master Pain.Kung Pow! Enter the Fist is best enjoyed with low expectations, if only because it might surprise you with genuine belly laughs. Writer-director Steve Oedekerk uses digital trickery to make himself a costar in the 1976 Hong Kong action flick Tiger & Crane Fist, just as Woody Allen turned a Japanese spy thriller into the comedy spoof What’s Up, Tiger Lily? The results are both technically impressive and stupendously stupid. Oedekerk is blandly appealing as “the Chosen One,” who sets out to avenge the evil Master “Betty” Pain for killing his family when he was still a kung fu-fighting infant. This stock setup is a cheap excuse for Oedekerk’s 80-minute buffet of chop-socky spoofery, with gags lifted from The Matrix, Oedekerk’s “Thumbation” comedies, and the rich legacy of Hong Kong action. Featuring “gopher-chucks,” a kung fu cow, aliens from France, and enough bad dialogue to choke a crouching tiger, Kung Pow! is mildly spicy, but mostly it’s full of nuts. –Jeff Shannon

How long does it take to stretch until you are flexible enough to do nice looking northern kung fu kicks?

I have been doing long fist for a year and a half and have decided to start stretching so i can do better for performance and form competitions. About how long does it take for the average body type to become limber enough, or even notice a sufficient change?

My personal body type is the ideal kind for long fist. Skinny, 6 feet tall, and long limbs.

I can already do cresent and whirlwind kicks, but they lack flexibility.

I know such fancy kicks aren’t very ideal unless youre exceptionally good, but these are just for shows and form competition.

Anyone heard of Shooting Fist Tiger Style Kung Fu?

Yes i do know someone, who teaches it. He is around 35ish There are only 2 schools in entire United states that teach it and he is only one who has gotten permission per his Sifu. His Sifu, Sifu Ping lives in a Northern China in a province that slips my mind at the time. He has a very large outline of the Heritage and how it was formed ect. The style to be basic is all Breaks, Tears, Ripping, ect… it is very brutal and he only accepts dedicated students who are old enough to understand it and not use it wrongly. I was just wondering if anyone else had ever heard about it. I believe it was created by using Shooting fist A.K.A lighting hand techniques for speed and percision of blows and Tiger Techniques for the brute strength and ripping and tearing techniques… Sorry if some of this Information is off. sense i have only been a part of it for about a yr now and have not even gone past a White sash.
This is original over 500 years old
I’ve studied it for a bit and it isnt just a fake one its real and very legit just not very common…bte im not looking to join one lol

Are there any African martial art schools in Texas other than Capoeira?

I have some history with different styles of martial arts, like long fist shaolin kung fu and tae kwan do, but I’ve become interested in more African oriented martial arts to suffice my cultural heritage and combative interests. I know Capoeira has its roots in Angola, Africa but my two closest friends practice it, and I feel its a bit unpractical. I do like the dance aspect but fail to see it used effectively with the lack of hand techniques and its need for large spaces.

kung fu school?

www.uswushu.com can you tell me if it is real self defense oriented kung fu? i know it says wushu, but they desvcrbie wushu the way it traditonally meant, a self defense martial art. I went to the class and took a practice class, where they taught long fist. I couldnt tell ifi t was authentic. We did things like hurricane kickas and butterfly kicks, but the teacher also showed why we would do these things in a fighting situation.
lol the funny thing is they just get did their website, seconds after i posted this, and it does mention a sparring program, and thaty it teaches self defense.
The only problem is that the website links are broken, so they havent gotten thweir content on yet.
oops, re did* the web site
