Heritage Project. Any ideas?

For my 9th grade english class we were assigned a heritage project. Here are the directions as stated on my paper:
Select a special object or tradition that has meaning to you and is connected to your cultural heritage. Your assignment is to present a cultural demonstation speech centered on that project or tradition. The goal is to teach the class about your culture and the entire class must participate in the learning. Past presentations hav included demonstrations on the following:
English tea party, origami, tai quan do or tai chi, irish dancing, foreign instrument playing, religious practice, observance of religious cultures, cures for cold/flu, traditiona family trips/reunions.
My heritage, personally, includes a lot of English and Irish, some Czechoslovakian, and a Tiny bit of German. And I wouldnt really bee interested in doing something too over the top. We only have a week to gather this together. Does anyone have any ideas on what i should present?
(we can bring in food too, im pretty sure)

Are there any African martial art schools in Texas other than Capoeira?

I have some history with different styles of martial arts, like long fist shaolin kung fu and tae kwan do, but I’ve become interested in more African oriented martial arts to suffice my cultural heritage and combative interests. I know Capoeira has its roots in Angola, Africa but my two closest friends practice it, and I feel its a bit unpractical. I do like the dance aspect but fail to see it used effectively with the lack of hand techniques and its need for large spaces.

Are you Jewish and would like to learn more about your Jewish heritage?

This summer have a beautiful and meaningful experience of a lifetime. Jewish university students and young adults come together to explore their Jewish roots in a non-judgmental and comfortable atmosphere, in the breathtaking, majestic Adirondack Mountains in upstate NY. You have the opportunity to hike, swim, or simply relax, while studying with world class educators about what it means to be a Jew in today’s world in open environment that makes it easy to ask straight-forward questions. Some topics include Jewish Philosophy, dating, Jewish ethics, Jewish meditation and spirituality among others. Hebrew reading crash courses are provided as well. The food is great too!

Each session lasts for about 12 days, with a choice of 4 sessions to choose from.

Regardless of what your connection or knowledge of Judaism is – if any at all, this is something you don’t want to miss, and will never forget.

The fees are very affordable and generous scholarships are available.
