A question relating to practising with form swords and bokkens?

Hey
I live in a city with a HUGE park in the middle. Now walking through it the other day I saw a chinese guy practising with a tai chi chaun form sword doing his sword forms. The guy was wearing the usual uniform (and he was pretty good!). I know this kind of thing is common in china (tai chi in the parks of a morning). But it got me thinking. I’d really enjoy to do similar on a warm day but I’m concerned about legality.

Here’s my thinking:

I’d like to take my bokkens and or form swords to the public park and practise sword form, with or without some partners. Now obviously I realise there are potential problems here and I’m wondering if the chinese guy was breaking the law.

I’m sure it would be fine in a relatively remote part of the country (solongas the swords are not being carried as a weapon things will likely be fine).

I’m keen to know what people think regarding UK law on this matter:

Obviously it will be carried in accordance with usual procautions. Iain.
just to say form swords are blunt and floppy – for those who don’t know.

Open Palm Martial Arts assistance?

Hey, My Names Justin. I’m fifteen sixteen in august. I’m searching for an adequate web link of free martial arts lessons for a martial art style with a majority of open palm strikes. I really would like to know because I’m at the moment in a bad position and I want to be able to defend myself without harming anyone beyond need. I’m male 15 years old 5″9 140lbs and very low in muscle content. Please help me, all suggestions appreciated. Also I’m looking for any good free online Tai chi web sites. (first time on yahoo answers and I’m really not sure if free lessons online is illegal so make sure the links do not copyright steal or offer illegal downloading of any lessons to avoid bad karma. Thank you)

shaolin kung fu in orange county?

Hey anyone know of a good school that isn’t expensive, teaches forms, does not go easy on the students, and has some sparring?

I have visted several schools in the area “shao-lin kf” schools but their forms lack discipline, and the teachers seemed a bit odd. The wushu places don’t fight, but their forms are great.. i’m not looking for karate or tae kwan do or a mix of any such thing.

Best martial art for winning fights?

Hey guys, so I’m 22, I’ve been working out for 3 years now. I’m pretty buff, a stocky build, 6ft1, 220 lbs. I’ve had a personal trainer this semester, so at 220 lbs I can run 2 miles at 5.5 as just a standard workout.. So I’m in pretty good shape, I’d like to drop 20-30 more LBS (no more then that I think)

I’m looking for a martial art to take starting this summer. I want a martial art, even a modern martial art, that if I learn, I can be confident I will win a fight. I’m not looking for “self defense” I completely intend on learning a martial art to win a fight, regardless of who is the aggressor… The portability ATA is nice.. as I plan to move.. not a main concern, I can just start over, but I’d prefer not to..

PLACES NEAR ME.
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
ATA Taekwondo
Mixed Martial Arts (MMA
Karate
• Tai Chi Kung Fu (Tai Ji)
• Tan Tui Kung Fu (Spring Legs)
• Hou Quan Kung Fu (Monkey Boxing)
White Dragon Kung fu

There is a Krav Maga, it’s waaay off 2 cities over from me. (50-60 minutes..) Though my internship this summer takes me 15 minutes from it. During the Semester I’d have a really hard time going 2-3 times a week.
