I have a choice of different martial arts to take. Which do I choose? I am looking for something that will get me in shape AND good self defense.
These are the choices:
Taekwondo
Freestyle Karate
Wing Chun
Jiu- Jitsu
Shotokan Karate
BJJ

I’m looking to get back into Martial Arts, but I need a good school. I’m already a Taekwondo blackbelt. I’m trying to avoid TKD, because I cannot stomach sport/olympic TKD. Perferably in or surrounding Jersey City (NYC is out of the question). Muay Thai, Capoeira, BJJ, etc…
Yeah I know about him, he’s on Bergen Ave in my city. I’ve already trained in Escrima and that style is not aerobic enough for me.
Anyone else? I’m looking for a style that will improve my physical condition at the same time.

Excluding the obviously Anime martial arts you find he often does which are impossible for humans there is an obvious Kung fu influence in his arts, while alot of his kicks we used to do in Tae kwon Do… so i was wondering if anyone know where that signature 1 hand infront of the body stance he uses came from.
It’s not druken fist though because he’s only supposed to use drunken fist in the series when hes drunk. he is seen making this motion when he’s sober

I’m curious about this matter. From what I was told this past summer, it is hard on the knees. Is that true? Compared to other styles of Martial Arts, is it difficult to learn? I’m a little interested in it, as well as Brazilian Jujitsu (but that’s a little later).
