How should I get rid of the pain in the muscles after the training?

I had my first Kung Fu class last Tuesday, but, as I haven’t worked out in 3 years, I didn’t do too much. I must say the Master was patient, but still…..

I have been through horrible leg pain ever since….The stances require that we stand in a crotched position, if I am expressing myself correctly (English not my first language), and I also was slipping a lot because of the floor and had to flex my inner thigh muscles very much, to prevent myself from falling.

Anyway…..point is, it’s been almost a week, I didn’t even go to Tai Chi class, because I literally couldn’t even descend stairs or climb without cutting my breath in pain….and still the same.

What can I do to get rid of this pain and relax my muscles as quick as possible? Because I need to go train again, I can’t sit aside like this forever.

Thank you for your time!

Could BASIC and doing pilates sloow injure the muscles in your lower back?

I have been doing pilates for 2 months now… VERY basic ab workouts mainly.. some thigh and butt.. but ALL in moderation.. I even bring my legs up as high as I can rather than almost touching the floor so I DONT strain my back. After 2 months of making my stomach so flat and sexy and strengthening all my muscles, tonight I picked my son up like I always do and I strained my lower back so much so I was paralyzed in pain for a minute.. It got better quiker than I thought…
But is it true maybe that for some.. pilates, no matter how basic and how CAREFUL you are, may not be built to handle the workouts? And after my back muscles heal, should I continue if I’m careful the way I pick things up and move? Because pilates for leaning and toning up is awesome for my body!

What is the difference between Pilates and Yoga?

I am looking for a non-fussy exercise that I can do at home. I would like to sweat a little from it, but the main thing is that I exercise my muscles safely (not interested in muscle building). I have tried a little bit of yoga, and I really liked how I felt afterwards. I really like the stretching, and breathing aspects. But, I am a Christian, and the spiritual aspect of yoga;the fact that it’s leaning toward Eastern religion, bothers me (no offense to those who believe it). Thanks for your answers!
