Question about working out?

The past few months, I have been working out like a maniac. I do yoga, pilates, and run a mile every day. And the only difference I have noticed are my legs. They feel a LOT more muscular, but the rest of my body just feels the same. I actually feel worse than I did before I started working out. Sometimes I feel better, and feel like I look better when I do nothing at all. Is this normal when people first start working out?

What is a good soft or internal art for an older lady?

I know a lady in her mid 50′s who would like to take up a martial art, but nothing too physical- she’s not the most mobile of people. Ideally I would like to bring her to tai chi, but there are no classes nearby. What other soft or internal styles are out there, so that I know what to search for?

Do you find this a bit strange?

You see, I’m a 3rd degree black belt in karate, and I do other forms of martial arts (i.e. Taekwando, Jujitsu, Kung Fu, etc). And nothing scares the hell out of me… That is except for dead roses. I freak out when I see dead roses. There’s just something uncanny and creepy about them. There is nothing I hate more than dead roses. Is there any logical explanation to my phobia?

What shud i do?

Well, i know its not a good idea to think about someone else when u r having kids and r married. i just dont know how should i stop myself.I tried meditation,tried to keep myself busy but nothing works out.Temporarily,it just goes out of my head and after some days it comes back.My husband never appreciates me whatever i do for him,when i talk to him he does not respond properly.I just dont like the way he behaves.I try to help him out if he has a problem with something.When i talk to him he will show me that he is very busy with kids,but then he will say that he is listening to me.When i ask him what did i say he doesn’t knows anything.
I feel so bored at times that i feel like running away.Well what should i do, i dont understand.How can i stop thinking about this other guy,please help me.Just wanna get out of this!!!!!!!!!

Recommended Martial Arts for excercise and general fitness?

I’ve been doing the same routine for some time (shooting hoops a few days a week) to stay healthy and I’ve become a little bored and uninspired, and as a result I’ve skipped my “play nights” to sit around and do nothing. 10lbs later I’ve decided to change things up and thought that some sort of martial arts might do the trick. I figure being in a class enviroment would help motivate me, get me back into shape and maybe even have a little fun. Im not looking to be competitive (even though i do have a mean competitive streak so who knows), or to really learn about kickin butt, but simply as a fitness tool.

Is there a martial art that fits these requirements? Would full contact sports like Boxing, Muy Thai or that-intense-Israeli- self-defense – is-called be best? or would something a little more “art” based like Shaolin Kung Fu or Aikido be more suitable? Or even go something more weapons based like Kendo or Fencing?

Any advice is appreciated.
