How can i improve my feet/ ankle stregnth?

in the past year i have broken my foot and ankle twice just walking and i have fractured my spine. my ankle injurie is starting to come back even though i am streching and doing my excercises. I really am having issues going en pointe becasue of this…i come do close but then i get injured. The thing is though i take pilates with a dance medicne person and three ballet classes a week for 2 hours and i also compete in tap, jazz, lyrical, and hip-hop. i really need to know what the problem is. Just incase your wondering i’m on a high level of dance so i don’t suck and i’m pretty hard core

Any opinions on pilates in Houston, TX?

I’m trying to find a studio that has Stott Pilates. I have a bad back and a lady I met told me Stott was good for the spine.

When you have someone crack your back or neck, (or you do it yourself). What makes the cracking sound?

You see many people do it. You know they turn their head quickly to “crack it”. There is always someone somewhere plaing amatuer Chiropractor, and “lifting” someone up to “crack their back” Again; What is it that makes the cacking sound, in the neck and back, when we do it, or have someone do it for us. Another example is when you firmly planted feet, and swing your body left to right, to “crack” your back. I know when I do some yoga like streching, I roll on my back and that also makes “little cracking sounds” in my spine, that I could only hear internally. Another question will ask about any heath benefits, dangers, etc. This question just asks what is it that causes the “cracking” sound to happen?

What could be wrong with my back?

My back muscle is hurting really badly. It’s about two inches from the left side of my spine right at my bra strap . The pain is a sharp pain in a very small area. I do fine when I take aspirin, but the pain always comes back. I don’t have insurance, so I want to problem solve before I drop $1,000.00 for someone to tell me “Take Aspirin”.

I recently started doing Yoga and Pilates. I also continue to do Step aerobics, Kick Boxing, sometimes weightlifting, and rollerblading. I have the same bed/pillows, and sleep a good 9 hours a night. Lent ended, so I’m eating chocolate again , other than that the diet is the same.

Any idea’s?

What can you do to make a bruised spine feel better?

I think I bruised my spine while doing pilates. It really hurts and is sore. It’s red but there is no actual bruise yet. Is there any quick fix?
