CENTER FOR THE STUDY AND PRACTICE OF TAI CHI

Design Problem:
A Buddhist community has a terrain near the Malibu Canyon and they want to built a small meditation center to be used by the community members and the public in general to practice tai Chi. The importance of the design is addressed to develop a structure related to the natural environment of Malibu Canyon and the incorporation of a design according to the existing conditions.

The following areas needed to be included in the design: Indoor and outdoor spaces for teaching and practice Tai Chi, changing rooms, restroom facilities, lobby/entry, 2 offices spaces, and an eating area.

We were required to attend or participate in two Tai-Chi classes and made research basic information about Tai Chi.

Design Intentions:
The design idea was taken from the combination of several Tai Chi position taking as reference the arms movements on each of them. The two main Tai Chi practice spaces and the entrance path came up from the combination of the different positions of the arms. This design can be mainly appreciate from a top view of the model.

My intention was to take advantage of the beautiful ocean views of the site by locating the main indoor practice space facing to the ocean to catch the sunset sun and create a state of peace and tranquility while practicing Tai Chi.

Halloween’s Tomorrow…?

…and I’m not sure what to be ^^;; anybody have any suggestions?
I’ll let you know, I have:
-a black dress
-the usual makeup
-taekwondo outfit (I take taekwondo)
-wooden sword
-bamboo stick
-bandannas

Nothing awkward (like dressing up as a stripper or whatever o__O)
By the way, I don’t want anything that everybody always dresses up as (like a witch, which I was last year).

How can I calm my nerves before a TaeKwonDo competition?

Tomorrow I am competing perfoming a poomsae. It is my first time competing. So far I am feeling good about it. I have practiced my form and I know it by heart. But I am worried I might get nervous tomorrow morning. Can you give me some tips to calm myself? I heard drinking water with sugar was good. Does it work?

tomorrow is yoga class in school….?

tomorrow is yoga class in school..but the dudes won’t shut up…how do i get them to shut up?! (BTW our teacher is deaf to hear them…)
