Does pilates work?

Does pilates or that balance ball work? I’m pretty skinny so if I started doing pilates would I become more muscular in a few weeks? How much would this help for track?

what should i do with my life?

I’m currently in high school. I am pretty good at drawing, using computers (website design, networking, etc), and taekwondo. I also run track and i’m learning (independently) about photography, film, and writing. I also want to learn capoeira, jiu jitsu, how to play the guitar, and finances (especially stocks).

As you can see, my interests range greatly without too much direction. My questions are:

What career should I consider? Should I give up some stuff until later in my life?
Just a note: art and sports are my passions

How do women get their lives on track? Do they need yoga to help them?

Tips for cross country…?

I joined the track team in my school last year. Although I didn’t gain much muscle, I lost 40 lbs. Now that I’ve lost all excess fat, I want to gain muscle and. However, I also take taekwondo classes every monday, wednesday, & friday (i am willing to go one less day a week). Is there any way I could get in shape for both without overworking?

PLEASE NO VAGUE ANSWERS. I don’t need to hear “run every day” or “practice often;” I already know that I have to do that.

Also, I have no money to buy fancy equipment.
I forgot to add, I am not that fast, and I’m not completely sure of what kind of diet to follow.

Body shakes during intense and non-intense workouts?

My friend and I were in track the year before and our coach was pretty hard on us. Let’s just put it this way… we used the same equipment the football team used (but to a lesser extent, of course; we weren’t looking to build giganto muscles). We don’t do track now; we exercise in moderation and the intensity varies. However, on both occasions and during track, we had problems with shaking. Not uncontrollably, but there was some shaking. Even when we do simple ab exercises, that could be enough to trigger shaking as we EXHALE. Yeah, it’s usually when we do ab exercises that these happen, or when Yoga or Pilates are involved. I imagine it’s because we’re not used to working certain parts of our body, but after sometime, shouldn’t our tolerance for pain or whatever it is increase? What’s going on? I’d rather not have it checked by a doctor because I don’t think it’s serious, but maybe there are other explanations for this, other than the idea that we’re overworking ourselves.
