i want to find a place to learn a form of martial art, i would prefer to learn kung fu, wushu, or brazillian ju jitsu. the problem is i want to find good qualifyed teacher that wont rush my training.(giving me a black belt in 2 yrs).no McDojangs. Anyone know of a place in the Vancouver Washington area?

www.uswushu.com can you tell me if it is real self defense oriented kung fu? i know it says wushu, but they desvcrbie wushu the way it traditonally meant, a self defense martial art. I went to the class and took a practice class, where they taught long fist. I couldnt tell ifi t was authentic. We did things like hurricane kickas and butterfly kicks, but the teacher also showed why we would do these things in a fighting situation.
lol the funny thing is they just get did their website, seconds after i posted this, and it does mention a sparring program, and thaty it teaches self defense.
The only problem is that the website links are broken, so they havent gotten thweir content on yet.

At the 2008 Olympics China will be holding a WUSHU tournament and I was wondering how this style of martial arts works.. I have seen Karate, Taekwondo, and Judo tournaments, but never WUSHU.

I’m looking for a new kung fu school/classes in Los Angeles, preferably in the Hollywood/Beverly Hills area. I know there are some down in Chinatown but would like something closer if possible. Any suggestions? Also i would prefer Chinese instructors, wushu.
btw i do know how to use search engines i was just wondering if anyone went to one themself, so they could tell me their opinion on it or recommend the best one.
