ahh… didnt know it was called sanda classes. i myself did some thai boxing once.
and i am now building up some strength in my legs after a years break from tai-chi so i can start again with my teacher next week, or the week after. looking very much forward to it.
wow, this is the 48. Standardized like the 24 is. Meant to blend the 5 styles of taiji & be more balanced between left & right, in stances, expressive emphasis and orientation. Whatever, it was a fun form, a bit exhilarating even. & I never got comfortable in the standards, new forms, that prevailed. Tho must accede i didn’t try much either. Oh well, that is past. Sounds like I should get back into prax, eh, on the basic traditional long form, as i remember it…so not 2 B dismembered from it
Right now as she`s going through the movements she`s building her chi up and that’s whats the beauty of this martial art when practice”right”, because its internal. Soft movements done over a period of time, with correct breathing, and notice how she dips down in a middle of a form, as she continues she`s building her chi up. Take note: this Martial art training is not to go fight in the UFoctagon, for those you think that you have totally misss the concept bihind ti chi chuan.
this is the first form I learned back in 1986 from a husband/wife taught class,,they were from the peking ballet, never knew exactly what style it was till I found this and went to the site. It didn t matter, it is very strong,,and builds great pushing ,uprooting power,I have an old vhs from china of a woman doing this form,,she is even more fluid,I prefer this form now, as my long form is very linear, and builds strength other ways, but just doesn t “feel” as good as this one
as to the replys i have seen here, yes, it is low, and generally wouldn t be that low martially, but practicing this way gives you great strength, the burn through the midsection/hips is very beneficial, and the more open those channels are, the better your fa jin will be at any height..I agree, it is a little showy as a competition form, but it feels great to do. when slowed down it is about 13 minutes,,not much compared to my 60 min. long form, but it is a big difference from the 9 in this video
It is more difficult to take the longer steps but it looks very graceful. There are many forms of Tai Chi, depending on what part of China you are from. On the other hand is it the accepted form? Video could be more clear.
so beautiful
