  1. I do that when i’m walking and realize i’m not sure if i have my wallet. I usually wear cargos so i have 6-8 pant pockets….my jacket has about 4 pockets and the jacket i wear underneat has 2 (i live in pa and walk 20 min to class).

Not trying to be an @$$, but she might’ve been looking for something.

  2. Two ideas, body hardening or awareness.

Before each practice I will take a fist and hit allover my body to harden it. Subtle but science has shown impacts on the bones like that cause micro fractures which rebuild and get stronger.

Also, she could have been tapping for body awareness. If you are tight in one area, tapping will make your mind aware of it and you try consciously try to loosen it up. I try to strecth this way once in awhile.

  3. *Sigh*

It is part of Tai Chi, Qigong and Kung Fu. Any serious practitioner of Chinese martial arts is aware of the flow of Chi and body’s meridians. If you were to look at the Bronze Man, you would find a direct relationship between the points she was tapping and the key points of the meridians.

There are different thoughts on ways of stimulating and activating the flow. Some believe tapping and some use massage or even acupressure for this. When people are really sick, they go to a highly trained individual to use acupuncture.
