what can i do to improve things, to compete and get more people to join this dance studio?

You are the proprietor of a dance studio, offering many different types of dance classes targeted at anyone who is interested in learning how to dance. A few months after you launched your studio, a huge multilevel gym opens near your studio, offering many more options and facilities than you. To make matters worse, another competitor opens in the area, but this time it is a Yoga studio. At this point you are still trying to establish yourself and build clientele base, and are just breaking even each month

  1. You definaetly need to get some publicity. Write a press release and send it to all of your local newspapers. Perhaps invite the public to an open house and put on a demonstration (have a sign-in sheet for people who may be interested in more info). Watch for local events (possibly penny socials, school functions or church events) where you can donate a certificate for free lessons to get more clients. Good luck!

  2. you willneed to advertise. Spend 20-30 percent of your advertising budget on in-direct marketing such as local newspapers or if you can afford it radio and the rest on drect advertising. This includes flyer drops, advertisments in school bulletins, etc. A good idea is to organise a social gathering where you can get people in and politely pressure them into joining up. Also ask them for friends details who might be interested in joining and call them.

    place flyers in school offices, on community notice-boards, in popular cafes (with permission of the owners). This will ensure your ads target the correct demographic, school girls or boys, women hanging in cafes etc.

    Be polite and pesonal to clients and they will mostly stick with you. Good luck

  3. Make sure your kids are having so much fun that they don’t want to leave when class is over, mommys and kids talk about stuf to each other. Pass out coupons for one free class to your kids to give to their freinds. Give birhtday partys for a minamal charge for your kids that include a hour of dance and a hour of party. Pass out more of those coupons at the end. These are all tactics that are working great for the school my daughter goes too.

  4. What’s great about your company is that it is a locally owned business for the many anti-corporate consumers that are out there. It hurts for a while but lowering your price just under what your competition is asking and informing consumers that you have lower prices and better service can help. I saw the comment about the press release and when you are doing that you can inform the papers that you are having an open house.
